Hi, all! Welcome to Hikes & Happy Hours! Our intentions with this blog are to share the experiences we have at Hikes & Happy Hours events. These events include hiking and drinking, duh! Our goal is to create a social club of mutual interests in the Denver area.

As the 35-day partial government shutdown temporarily ends, we would like to take this time to encourage you donate anything you can to the official non-profit of the National Parks, The National Park Foundation.
Public Affairs Officer, Kyle Patterson, stated "[Rocky Mountain National] Park staff are happy to be back at work providing services to park visitors and protecting the park's amazing resources." Just in time for the park's 104th birthday!
To celebrate, we headed to Denver's Earls Kitchen + Bar! Located on 16th Street Mall at Glenarm, the elegant yet cozy ambiance is enough to draw anyone in for Saturday afternoon happy hour. Earls offers specials on food and beverages. A favorite of ours is when a menu offers information on dietary restrictions and local ingredients. Earls designed their menu to include when dishes are consciously sourced, vegetarian or vegan, and gluten free!
In addition to happy hour specials, Earls features a cocktail of the month for $5. January's is a moscow mule with your choice of regular, lime, cucumber, or passion fruit flavor. Let's just say, we wish it was the beginning of January again to load up on some passion fruit mules!
After finishing happy hour, there are plenty of shops on 16th Street Mall to wander into from Target to unique Denver boutiques!
